Environmentally Friendly Packaging for Dietary Supplements and Other Health Products

A growing trend in many industries is the idea of corporate sustainability; that is, how to run a business with the least amount of impact on the environment and with the needs of future generations in mind. Not only is this area especially enticing to consumers, but it can actually lower the cost of doing business.

One area this idea of sustainability has branched into is packaging, resulting in the growing popularity of environmentally friendly packaging. Unlike traditional packaging, environmentally friendly packaging focuses on transporting products in ways that reduce impact on the environment. For example, Styrofoam is not biodegradable, but it is often used in the form of packing peanuts to provide cushion for fragile objects. Replacing these Styrofoam peanuts with a biodegradable option such as cornstarch-based packing peanuts or newspaper results in more environmentally friendly packaging.

With respect to packaging dietary supplements and other health products, there are many options that you can choose to make your company more “green.” For example, using easily-recyclable BOPP bottles to hold your products rather than traditional plastic is a way to incorporate environmentally friendly packaging into your line without sacrificing the integrity, look, and feel of your products.

If you want to learn more about the benefits of using environmentally friendly packaging and to find out how you can incorporate it into your line of health products, call or e-mail Vitarich Laboratories today.
