Russian Adaptogens: What’s the Difference?
Although adaptogenic herbs are used and renowned worldwide for their health benefits, it’s widely agreed that Russian adaptogens are of the highest quality. The original discoverer of many of these plants, Dr. Israel Brekhman, did much of his research on Russian adaptogens that he found in the Primorye region of that country. Further, the athletes, politicians, musicians, and other people who first used adaptogens all used the ones provided by Dr. Israel Brehkman, and these were Russian adaptogens. What these facts mean is that all of the standards for adaptogens were established using Russian plants; therefore, while the effects of Eleuthercoccus from Russia have been studied and confirmed, the effects of the Chinese strain of this same species are not as well-known. Further, most health claims for adaptogens have resulted from Soviet research, and therefore they can only rightly be applied to Russian adaptogens.
Until 1991, Dr. Brehkman’s extensive research into and resulting knowledge of adaptogens was limited to Russia, which was then known as the Soviet Union. Because of this, other countries are still playing catch up, experimenting with various harvesting, drying, and extraction methods, trying to match the effectiveness of the Russian techniques. Without the expertise of a half century of research behind their ingredients, products using anything but Russian adaptogens simply cannot compete with the effectiveness and bioavailability of Russian adaptogen products.
Vitarich Laboratories is one of few dietary supplement manufacturers to offer adaptogenic herbs, all of which are Russian adaptogens. In fact, we even have an exclusive relationship with a factory in Russia. This factory uses a co-extraction process that results in 5-6 times more bioavailability, giving you and your customers the highest benefits possible.
